Task Assignment

You can either delegate a task by choosing someone else to complete it and have it return to you, or pass it on, where the task stays with the person or team who finishes it and does not return.

  • Default behavior

During task creation, tasks default to “Delegated” mode, which is indicated by a highlighted delegate icon, but you can switch to “Pass-on” mode before saving.

You can track a task’s movement between teams, projects, or users by clicking the task breadcrumbs, with the current location highlighted in dark blue. The task moves forward when “Complete & Forward” (top right) is selected or backward if rejected using the “Reject” button (top left).

Tasks associated with saved assignments are sent in “Pass-on” mode to the next project/team or a user

Workflow/User assignment: if you’re a team member and choose to delegate a task to a project, you can select either a Workflow or a user; however, if you’re not part of the project, you can only delegate the task to the team/project’s Workflow.

Once a task is delegated, the Assignee field and task stage become non-editable. To revert changes, click the “Retract” button in the top right-hand corner of the task sidebar :

Delegated tasks appear under both the “All Tasks” and “Delegated” filters in the team grid, while Passed-on tasks are listed only under the “All Tasks” filter.
